A solution for the U of U Bench to Bedside Competition, the V.I.I.V. clamp addresses the issue of nurses forgetting to open back up clamps on secondary IV administrations. I studied the human interaction with the IV system and its environment and propose a new clamp that makes up for a lack of cues in the process of setting up the secondary IV line.
These illustrations and prototypes do not represent the final design of the V.I.I.V. Clamp (Visually Indicative IV Clamp). To reach a final design, additional prototyping and user feedback will be used.
